Small animal basal metabolism system with a 1.4 Liter spirometer. From ‘Collins’ Catalog of Pulmonary Function Testing Instruments”, undated by likely from around 1978, page 1-49.
Found on the Boerhaave Museum website. Mis-identified as a ‘respiratory apparatus’ (“beademingssapparaat”) rather than as a spirometer. Model number and actual date of manufacture were not listed but it is likely a Lode D/51 or a D/53, and probably from around 1960.
Publicity photo dated Nov, 1938. The spirometer looks like a 6 liter recording Vitalometer but could be an animal spirometer (Collins sold a wide range of metabolic systems for animals from the 1930’s through the 1980’s).
